Berlin trains 2011-06-28

I visited Berlin on June 26-30 for joining the international conference “The X-ray Universe” which featured recent results from the XMM-Newton satellite and other observatories, and planned future missions such as Athena and LOFT.

I made a contributed talk for 15min, presenting Suzaku result on the Galactic X-ray background emission, or GRXE, and magnetic accreting white dwarfs. An X-ray spectral model that I numerically constructed for magnetic accreting white dwarfs attracted interests of several researchers, happily.

The pictures are S-bahn which is a bit smaller than the metro operating in Tokyo but quite frequent and quick, glass elevator of the conference venue, a tower of church near the venue.
